Our goal every summer is for staff to never have to visit the Health Hut! We place a priority in the Kitchen on making sure Staff is following all safety protocols and that everyone is getting plenty of sleep at night to maintain their health throughout the summer.
If there is a need to go to the Health Hut, staff will check in with Gervais or Leland first as they are capable of treating minor injuries, headaches, allergies, etc. We will send you to the Health Hut if it is out of our scope! If a staffer does have a severe injury, parents will receive a phone call to keep them in the loop.
ALL medications (prescription and over the counter) must be turned into Gervais on Arrival Day. Our counselors will keep the bare minimum of OTC meds (tylenol, ibuprofen, Tums, etc.) in the houses, but all daily medications need to be dispensed by Gervais in the Kitchen. You will bring these to the Kitchen on Arrival Day, and he will let you know what the process is for taking your medicines.
Gervais and Leland do look through all of the staff’s health forms to make sure we are aware of any health concerns the staff has. If there is anything you would like to discuss with us (or explain more), please feel free to reach out prior to your session.
