Owner & Executive Director
Jimboy (a Director since 1988) has been the Executive Director of Greystone since 1996. He grew up at camp and has worked in virtually every area of the business, from horse groom, to maintenance boy, to canoeing counselor, to camp cook, then Director. Jimboy makes camp fun! He brings simple enthusiasm and devoted care to every detail of the summer. Fireworks during the Carnival, amazing facility renovations, and generous giveaways all bear Jimboy’s “over the top” signature. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and RTS Seminary before returning to Greystone to serve as Director.
Owner & Health Director
Jimboy’s wife Margaret is a Pediatrician and serves as our Health Director. She was a camper in the 70s and was a counselor in the 80s. She now runs our Health Hut during the summer, striving to keep the camp community healthy and happy. Margaret and Jimboy have five children who have grown up at camp and love being a part of camp life each summer. The Millers live year-round at camp in “Grey Lodge,” the home Dr. Sevier lived in when he founded Greystone.
Junior Camp Director
Katie (40 plus years on staff) directs our Junior Camp session. Greystone has always been a part of Katie’s life; she grew up at camp, was a camper for 10 years and a counselor for four years. As a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she then transitioned into Assistant Director, and then into being a Director, starting the Junior Camp session in 1999. Katie also operates our Greystone Store. She lives at camp with her husband, Greg. Together they have five children who have all enjoyed being a part of camp.
June, Main, and August Director
As both a camper and a counselor, Laura has excelled in every aspect of camp. A graduate of Converse College, Laura uses more than 40 years of camp experience to direct our June, Main, and August sessions. As camp “mom,” she keeps Greystone running in its day-to-day activities and loves seeing the entire camp community as she delivers apples on Apple Cart each day. Her husband Gervais cooks all of our incredible food and runs our kitchen program. Both of their daughters have been campers and have enjoyed working on staff.
Staff Director
After spending her whole life at Greystone, Catherine now serves as the Staff Director at camp. A camper for 12 summers and a counselor for 4, Catherine helps with our hiring, social media, camper engagement, Program Staff, and many other details that combine to make Greystone better every year. Catherine graduated from Wofford College and now lives in Travelers Rest, SC with her husband Peter and their dog, Ben.
Operations Director
Peter first came to camp in 2014, teaching tennis as a member of Men Staff, and returned the following two summers to serve as Travel Director. After several years away working as a software engineer, Peter returned to camp and joined the year-round director team in 2023. As Operations Director, Peter works to make camp more effective by streamlining and enhancing Greystone’s back office functions. He graduated from Wofford College and lives with his wife Catherine in Travelers Rest, SC.
Program Director
Ellen-Anne has grown up at Greystone. After 10 years as a camper, she served as a counselor for many years, heading up the Ceramics program and Program Staff. With a degree in Fine Art Sculpture from Pepperdine, Ellen-Anne brings over 15 years of staff experience to the year-round team as the Program Director. She is in charge of recruiting the counselors and setting up the intricacies of our activity programs that the campers love each summer. Her creative energy and artistic flare add a fun element to the camp family. Ellen-Anne lives in Hendersonville with her husband James and their three children.
Events & Outreach Director
Sarah came to camp for 11 years as a camper and 8 years as a counselor, and now serves as one of our Directors. With a Master’s in Professional Communication from Clemson, Sarah manages all marketing, communications, and events for camp. She also specializes in helping our new camp families as they acclimate to camp. She will be in touch throughout the spring, sending newsletters that answer most of the questions new campers might have. Sarah lives in Greenville, SC with her husband and two sons.
Junior Camp Program Director
Meredith was a camper for seven years, and now serves as the Junior Camp Program Director. She has the pleasure of hiring and recruiting program and cabin counselors for the quickest, cutest session of the summer! Meredith graduated from The University of Alabama for undergrad and then graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC with her Master’s in Food and Nutrition. She lives in Savannah, GA with her husband, Chris, and their daughter.
