We do not want anything to interrupt or interfere with your daughter’s camp experience this summer; therefore, we are asking all of our campers to do 3 things before coming to camp:
We are asking for your daughter to quarantine for 7 days prior to the start of her session. The quarantine is 7 days prior to Opening Day, with Opening Day being Day 8. While your official quarantine doesn’t start until a week out, we’d also encourage you to exercise caution with all activities 14 days prior to your session. What do we mean by quarantine?
Please limit her exposure to others for the 7 days prior to when her session begins. If she is still in school during the week before camp, we ask that your daughter follow all masking and distancing guidelines while there and that she quarantine when not at school (i.e. do not attend any other activities such as parties, get togethers or play dates with friends or family, weddings, sporting events, end of year programs, or other outings). We ask that your daughter not eat in restaurants during this week-long quarantine and only pick up food “to-go” during this period.
In order to protect your camper, we encourage family members to avoid these settings and situations as well and only go to locations that are absolutely necessary (like the grocery store or to work). If you must go anywhere, please make sure to follow distancing guidelines and wear a mask.
We ask that your family limit unnecessary travel and use precautions when traveling to camp.
If you have a vaccinated camper, we are still asking that she follow these quarantine protocols so that we can ensure that our entire community comes to camp healthy.
We are relying on our camp families to join us in this pre-camp quarantine. If you are questioning whether you should participate in an activity, please consider whether it would be worth it for your daughter to bring COVID to camp and then have to go home. She will also expose her entire cabin group, so it is more than an individual decision. Please help us start each session healthy so that we can have the very best summer this year!
During your daughter’s 7-day quarantine, we are also asking that you fill out a 7-day Health Screening Log. On this Log, you will record her temperature, monitor her daily symptoms, explain any exposure to COVID during that period, and answer a few follow-up health questions.
If your daughter has symptoms that are consistent with COVID, tests positive for COVID, or is exposed to COVID or any contagious illness in the 14-day period prior to camp, please contact our Health Director, to discuss the situation and make a plan.
Please print out the Health Screening Log below and mark the start date on your calendar: 7 days prior to the start of your daughter’s session!
Campers must come to camp with a negative molecular (PCR) COVID test result. An antigen or antibody test will not be accepted. The only exceptions are if your daughter has had COVID in the past 90 days or if she is vaccinated.
Your daughter should get her COVID test 1-4 days before arrival at camp and continue her quarantine for the rest of the 7 days prior to her session. You are welcome to schedule her test for any of those days, as long as you are confident that you will have the results back in time for Opening Day. If you are unsure about getting the results back in time, we recommend testing 4 days into her quarantine. You must bring the negative COVID test result with you to camp on Opening Day.
Your daughter can receive a PCR test anywhere that works for your family, but please make sure that the testing location can (and will!) get the results back to you in time for camp.
If you are interested in ordering a test to perform at home, we recommend Community Lab’s saliva-based PCR test that can be mailed to you prior to your session. They will bill your insurance for the test, so it should be free to your family. You will administer the test at home, and then overnight the test back with the included prepaid shipping label. We will be using Community Lab for our summer testing, so using them for your pre-camp test means your information will already be in their system.
If your daughter has contracted COVID within 90 days of the start of her session, she does not need to be tested again before coming to camp. Instead, please bring a copy of her positive COVID test result. Please make sure that this positive result was within 90 days of the start of her session. This positive result cannot be within 14 days of the start of her session.
If your daughter has received a COVID vaccine, she does not need to get a COVID test before camp unless she becomes ill or has symptoms. Instead, please bring a copy of her vaccination card with you on Opening Day. Please make sure that your daughter has completed both doses prior to arriving at camp.
