We think that teenage girls are the bees knees! So much of the Greystone experience is centered around encouraging, building up, inspiring, and engaging with teenage girls. We also know that so many of you have wonderful and formative stories from being a teen at camp, with the great friendships, devotions, and staff mentors.
But what is a parent to do at home? We get asked this a lot, and while there are so many great resources out there, here are a few of our favorites that have been appreciated by many parents, staff, and directors over the years:
The Cultural Translator: This free weekly email pops into your inbox every Friday and shares the hottest trends or topics affecting teens that week. If you’re interested in knowing what is going on in the teenage world, or what teens are talking about, this is a great place to start.
Books: While not all of these are Christian, they do provide some great insight into growth and development. If reading (or listening!) is your thing, check out one of these great books:
Podcast: Scrolling Alone episode: Sandi Taylor shared this podcast episode with our Head Staff team this summer, and it is a must listen for anyone with teen girls.
Dr. Eileen Kennedy-Moore resources: We’ve had a few parents rave about hearing Kennedy-Moore speak at their schools recently. While her website tends to lean a little on the younger side, there are some great hidden gems in there.
These are just a few of our most shared or favorite resources. Do you have others we should check out? Please let us know! Email to share your favorites.
