Singing in the Dining Hall has been a cherished tradition since the first year of camp, and we know you love it as much as we do. Just hearing those first notes of a favorite song can take you back in an instant - you should have heard the singing at our Alumnae Reunion!
Alums of all ages fondly remember the Song Competition Evening Program, and the thrill that came when your cabin’s song was selected. We haven’t added a new song to the canon since that EP ended in the 90s…that is, until now!
When we thought up The Camp Connection, we knew we had to launch an incredible contest, where campers could create something to mark this crazy year of camp history. Enter our Song Contest, where June, Main, and August campers submitted a new camp song that we could sing next summer!
We received so many impressive entries (our Greystone Girls are talented!), but we were able to narrow it down to three winners - one from each session. Check out the videos and stories of their winning songs here, but be warned, you might have them stuck in your head for the rest of the day. They are catchy!
It’s a new century of camp, and it only seems right that we have some new songs to celebrate it with. We are thrilled for these girls to have their own piece of Greystone history, and we cannot wait to sing their songs together this summer! Did your cabin win the song competition when you were a camper? Can you claim one of the songs we still sing all the time? We want to hear about it!
