Last night the Carnival was a huge success! We had the BEST time riding rides, eating our special Carnival food, hanging out with friends, dancing and playing. The weather was beautiful - in fact, the weather for the rest of the session is going to be sunny and mild - you couldn’t ask for more perfect camp weather!
This is the midway point in camp. The girls are feeling confident in their ability to navigate camp and get to their classes without help. They are settling into their cabins and making new friendships with quality time spent with their group. I love seeing how comfortable they feel as they have freedom to run and play in the open spaces around camp. This has been a happy and settled session.
Breakfast: Fruit Bar, Cereal, Pancakes, Sausage Breakfast Club Joke: “A Little Horse” (ask your daughter about it!). Lunch: Hamburgers, French Fries, Salad Bar Dinner: Poppy Seed Chicken, Rice, Veggies, Homemade Bread, Salad Bar
Tonight’s dinner is our Birthday Ball celebration! We will honor all the girls who have their birthdays during the session with a special dinner and cupcakes for dessert for the whole camp. The Birthday Ball was started by my Great Grandfather, Dr. Joseph Sevier. His daughter Virginia had her birthday every summer during camp and the celebration was started to include all the other birthdays for the summer.
Tonight’s Evening Program will be Game Show Night. This entertaining and fun program will bring lots of laughter and excitement as their cabin counselors are called to the stage to represent the cabin in fun games and challenges.
Thanks for checking in!
PS - We have been getting questions about how the store works for Junior Camp as it is different from the other sessions at Greystone. The store is always open for necessities as needed and for necessities the girls can drop by to get things like stamps, stationery, water bottles etc. However, visits to see the store and shop are scheduled. Each cabin group gets 1 store visit during the session and if your child has gone in these first few days you may notice that her account might go low. There is no need to put more money in the account. If a necessity is needed after that time, we will make sure she gets what she needs and will note that with the charge. If you have money leftover in your daughters account, you may either use that amount on Closing Day if you shop at the store, OR we will refund you a couple of weeks after the session. To check your daughters account, just log onto the Camper In Touch portal, click on the Accounts tab and details to see real time spending. Any accounts that are in the negative under $5 are forgiven by the store and will not be billed to the parent.
