Join Us in Praying for Summer 2024 Week by Week
We are just a couple of days out from our first Opening Day of 2024; it’s almost time to raise the curtain and start the show! Camp is abuzz with activity right now as we finish up staff training, complete final projects, and make sure every detail is ready for our first campers to arrive. We couldn’t be more excited and grateful to have reached this point, and we cannot wait to start our best summer ever with you!
We started praying for summer 2024 pretty much as soon as summer 2023 ended, but our prayers take on a different tenor at this point in the season. We truly pray without ceasing from our first Opening Day to our last Closing Day, and we’d like to invite you to join us!
Any prayers you pray for Greystone are SO appreciated, but if you want to pray along with us week by week, here is a brief guide for the summer.
Week 1: May 25th-31st
- Pray for our Junior campers and staff as they soak up their week at camp!
- Pray for our full-summer staff as they complete their Orientation this week.
- Pray for a safe and healthy summer for all, and that God’s protection would be over our community.
Week 2: June 1st-7th
- Pray that June Camp would kick-off smoothly and that campers and staff would all settle into the camp routine and feel comfortable.
- Pray for all of our activities, that campers would have fun, be safe, and learn new skills.
- Pray that lifelong, God-centered friendships would be formed this summer throughout our entire community.
Week 3: June 8th-14th
- Pray for wisdom and energy for our Group Leaders as they work on all different areas of camp and take care of campers and counselors.
- Pray for all of our camp parents who write letters and cheer on their campers; and for those parents who still need to pack trunks!
- Pray for our camp ministers as they speak at Morning Assemblies and church services.
Week 4: June 15th-21st
- Pray for our June campers as they leave camp and go back home.
- Pray for our camp traditions, that they would impact a new generation of Greystone Girls.
- Pray that everything we do this summer would fulfill our mission: to delight and inspire for the Glory of God.
Week 5: June 22nd-28th
- Pray for our Main campers as they arrive, meet their cabins, and get settled in for 5 amazing weeks.
- Pray for all the support staff who work hard to keep camp running: our Maintenance, Housekeeping, Kitchen, and Office teams.
- Pray for all of our Evening Programs and Events, that they would be fun and provide amazing memories.
Week 6: June 29th-July 5th
- Pray God would bless us with wonderful weather so that we can enjoy our activities and events to the fullest.
- Pray that girls would grow in the 4-fold way this summer: spiritually, socially, mentally, and physically.
- Pray that our community would uphold the Honor Code so that we will all show kindness, see the good, and take ownership of what we do.
Week 7: July 6th-12th
- Pray for our counselors as they love and serve the campers in their cabins and classes.
- Pray that this summer would be as impactful for our staff as it is for the campers; that they would grow and feel supported and cared for here.
- Pray for energy and endurance for all staff, and that counselors would form wonderful friendships with each other.
Week 8: July 13th-19th
- Pray for our camp nurses and doctors as they work hard to care for our community.
- Pray for our campers who are celebrating birthdays with us this summer, that they would feel celebrated and special.
- Pray for all the meals we’re enjoying together in the Dining Hall.
Week 9: July 20th-26th
- Pray for our Main campers as they navigate the emotions of leaving camp.
- Pray for our staff as they rest and recharge during the weekend before starting August Camp.
- Pray that all our campers would be able to take the lessons of camp home with them.
Week 10: July 27th-August 2nd
- Pray for our August campers arriving!
- Pray for our new campers, especially, that they would feel welcomed and at home here.
- Pray that camp would be a place filled with FUN, where girls can be themselves and let go of any pressures they feel outside of this place.
Week 11: August 3rd-9th
- Pray for our August campers as they transition back home.
- Pray for our staff - that they could finish strong and feel God’s presence with them as they leave from camp and go back to school.
- Pray for rest and encouragement for our year-round team as we wrap up one summer and catch our breaths before starting preparations for the next!
