Junior Camp:

Our Junior campers sample all of our great Greystone classes with their cabin group. On Opening Day, girls find out their cabin’s schedule and don’t have to worry about scheduling! The cabin will travel together to their classes, trying an assortment of different activities during the week-long Junior Camp.

There are so many advantages to trying all of the Junior Camp classes. First, you really do get to sample it all! In the short time frame, it is amazing all of the different classes the girls will get to experience, many trying something new for the first time. It’s a great way to know what types of classes you enjoy, especially if you will eventually switch to a longer session. Also, going to classes with your cabin friends cuts down on homesickness and confusion. As the girls travel together to their classes, there is usually someone in the group who knows where they are going, and having your cabinmates in the classes with you makes sure you are always doing an activity with a friend – a win-win!

To see which great classes we are offering this year, make sure to check out our 2024 Junior class offerings on our Scheduling page.

June, Main, and August Camps:

At our longer sessions, girls will choose their own classes when they arrive on Opening Day. After unpacking, our counselors help their campers make their schedule. So, how does this work?

Scheduling worksheet: Each camper is going to receive a scheduling worksheet, and you can see a sample of what one looks like on our Scheduling page. We’d recommend looking at this before the summer so you know what to expect!

Classes offered: You can see all of our 2024 June, Main, and August class offerings on our Scheduling page. We offer most classes to all our campers, but make sure to check for any age limits or session limits for a few classes.

How many classes you will take: June campers rotate between 14 total classes, taking 7 on MWF and 7 on TTS. Our Main campers have 12 total classes, as their 7th class each day is a Club period. Our August campers take the same 7 classes each day.

Making a list: It’s smart to come to camp with a list of classes that you’re interested in taking. When looking over the class offerings list on our Scheduling page, write down the classes you want to take the most. Even better? Bring that list with you on Opening Day so you can remember which classes you were interested in taking.

Signing up with friends: Many of our younger girls and new campers will sign up for classes with their cabinmates. Doing this helps so that you will know someone when you go to your classes! While this is not required, just know that you can take classes with friends, if you’re interested.

Counselor help: Throughout the scheduling process, our counselors are going to help you. They will help you find when things are available and help make sure you are the appropriate age for specific classes. They will also make sure that you’re not running all over camp to get to your classes; having classes close together is smart!

Scheduling in our camp computer system: In the afternoon of Opening Day, campers will head down to our Fort building to schedule their classes in our camp computer system. We will do one final check of your schedule to make sure everything looks good, and we will officially “enroll” you in your camp classes. We also check the class numbers to see how many girls are enrolled in that class; if a class has a lot of girls in it, we may help you find a different time to take that activity with a smaller number of campers so that you can get more hands-on time doing the activity. Once you’ve entered your schedule, you will be ready for the BEST summer EVER!

Changing your classes: Over the first few days of camp, we have as scheduling tent set-up near our office. If at any point you want to switch your schedule and try something else, you can stop by the tent, and our Head Staff team will help you switch. We want ever camper to love her schedule, so come change it if you don’t enjoy something!

We hope this has helped answer many of your scheduling questions, but if you want to know more, let us know! Also, check out our Scheduling page for even more details about how our activities work at camp. And of course, browse through our Explore pages to see more details about all of our classes. We’ll see you back here next week!
