Today is the last full day of camp and everyone is giddy with excitement and enthusiasm for their final three classes and the surprise of Banquet tonight. We have one more day to spend with our new best friends in the best place on earth, and we will cherish every moment!
The campers will squeeze in as many tetherball games, cartwheels down the Pageant Court, and spontaneous dance parties as possible. Other moments will be filled with expressions of gratitude, joyous laughter, and celebrations of the new friendships made here.
The sense of excitement is just as great with the counselors as it is with the campers. Our Junior Staff arrived only 10 days ago, and they have been busy bees since their arrival. Being a camp counselor is hard work! The days are long and, even though the week is short, we create LOTS of memorable moments for the campers. Rarely does one experience the emotions counselors feel at the end of a session. There’s a sense of elation for the campers’ success and a feeling of sadness when their campers leave.
Tonight we will celebrate the end of camp with a Banquet! It is an event that the campers anticipate with keen delight, often ranking as the favorite moment of the entire session. It will be a wonderful ending to a wonderful session… beginning with a fun play presented before dinner by the counselors.
They perform an adapted story complete with costumes, singing, and choreography. We’ll have a delicious meal served in a decorated Dining Hall, toasts, favors, and the final team scores announced. At Junior Camp, we end the evening with Vespers and discuss the light that the campers can bring to this world.
We cannot wait to welcome you all into camp tomorrow morning to pick up your girls! We know your girls will be excited to give you a big hug and show you around camp.
Please arrive at camp from 9:00am - 11:00am and plan to leave camp no later than 11:30am. You’ll enter camp the same way you did on Opening Day, and we will guide you to the cabin area to pick up your daughter!
