Hello girls! We are truly counting down the days until camp, and we know you are too. The weather is warm, the counselors are arriving, the boxes are piling up – it’s a sure sign camp is just around the corner.
One thing I know you’re excited for this summer is Morning Assembly! It’s a camper favorite each summer, and this year, we’re excited about bringing back some of your favorites but also adding in some new pizzazz into the mix. Here’s what you need to know:
This year, we are moving Morning Assembly outside on the Pageant Court. With our brand new HUGE stage that we have installed in front of the Shepherd’s Gazebo, we have the perfect place to enjoy this favorite morning activity. If it’s raining? We have a stage ready to go in the Fort, so we can easily switch inside.
We will be enjoying our favorite Morning Assembly activities just like every year: dancing crazy to our fast songs, enjoying our most popular slow songs, and then hearing a great morning devotion from one of our camp ministers.
Each year, we talk about taking what you learn at camp home with you. This year, you’re going to get a head start, as we will be putting into practice what we’re learning while at camp! We will mix in some great service-style projects weekly so that you can practice what we’re hearing at Morning Assembly.
At our June and Main Camp sessions, we are also going to work on how to have a personal quiet time. We talk about how to spend time with the Lord while you’re at camp, but this summer, you are going to have one or two mornings where you can actually try it out. We will lead you through the process, and it will be a great way to practice before you even leave Greystone.
We are excited to welcome two new RUF ministers this summer! John Bourgeois from Wake Forest RUF will be our campus minister in June Camp. John, his wife, and his three children are counting down the days! Our Main campers will love meeting Reid Jones from Clemson RUF. Along with his wife and two girls, John is looking forward to a wonderful summer at Greystone. We are thrilled to welcome these new ministers to camp!
If you’ve been looking forward to Morning Assembly for the past two years (like we know so many of you have!), we know this summer will be just as fun (if not more!) than you’re expecting. With adding in some service projects, quiet time practice, and some new camp ministers, it is going to only make Morning Assembly that much more exciting. We can’t wait to sing “Life Is Precious” with you in a few short days!
