Choosing Greystone has been one of the best decisions we have ever made for our girls.
I first heard of Greystone as a child when some friends attended, but it was in college when I really learned about it. One of my best college friends spent every summer as a Greystone camper and she talked about camp all the time. She had great stories and special friendships from her days at Greystone, and the camp had been so formative in her faith.
Fast forward a few years, and I met many of her camp friends at her wedding and was struck by the way Greystone was still such a part of her life. I had just had my first baby girl days before that wedding and my friend said, “I hope she will be a Greystone girl one day.” She would tell me that several more times in my little girl’s first few years.
I never forgot that comment, and when it was time to start thinking about camp, we visited Greystone and were blown away by its beauty, the intentionality of every thing that happens there and it’s commitment to fostering girls’ faith and relationship with Jesus.
This summer will be our girls’ 6th one at Greystone and the camp has lived up to everything my friend told me about it and so much more. Our girls have learned about Jesus and grown in their relationship with Him, and they have made friends all over the country that they keep in touch with throughout the year. We have watched our girls try new things at camp and gain confidence, independence and adventure.
It is a place that is a break from regular life full of fun and offers them such a special retreat each summer. The counselors and staff have been so wonderful and loved our girls so well. The traditions of the camp mean so much to them and we have made some of these part of our family life during the school year.
Camp Greystone is truly a special place and our girls get more and more excited each year to go back. And as much as we miss them while they are there, we are so thankful they are in such an amazing place with such wonderful people, growing into the people that Jesus intended them to be.
