Wanting to make your New Year’s Eve celebration the VERY BEST EVER?! Look no further, as we’ve got you covered. Camp is one big celebration all summer long, and these Evening Program ideas will take a boring night and make it shine.
First place to start? Find some costumes. Whether you all dress up the same, or everyone chooses a funny costume to wear, there is something about a costume that just ups the mood from the start.
Going along with your costumes, why don’t you choose a theme for the night? You could do a pink party, food theme night (like Italian or Mexican), blackout for the New Year, or so much more. Having a theme puts people in the mood to celebrate!
Nothing gets people more excited than a little friendly (or not so friendly) rivalry. Have a family Olympics competition, complete some Minute-to-Win-It games, try out some trivia, or give one of our favorite games a try. Keep a score board and crown the winner!
We love a good celebration party at camp…from Birthday Ball to our 100th Celebration to many days in between. Why not celebrate the year with fun hats, cupcakes, and some upbeat music? Put out some table decorations and bid the year goodbye in style!
No camp session is complete without Council Fire or Banquet Awards…what a way to end a great few weeks at camp. This crazy year especially, there are probably many fun (and funny) awards you could hand out: best movie marathon, longest time without a shower, best new hobby learned, etc.
Sometimes, the right words just round out a good memory. Have everyone share their favorite memory of the year (I bet your family has done some cool things during this pandemic!) - it will feel like Five Year speeches. Or, why not raise your glass and write a toast that you share before dinner.
Why don’t you make the night EXTRA special with some performances? Lip Sync and Talent Show are two of our favorite Evening Programs - add one of them to the New Year’s Eve celebration this year! We can’t wait to see what your parents come up with.
It may be chilly but building a big ‘ole fire would be a GREAT way to celebrate your NYE. Roast some marshmallows and have a s’more. You can even have your own “roasting party” where you roast the best/worst moments of 2020…I am sure you have plenty!
Ending the night with fireworks or sparklers?! What could be better! Put on some really great music (and turn it up REALLY loud), and then shoot off some fireworks with the family. It’s the way we end special events at camp, so you know it will be the perfect way to end this special year too!
