Waking up the morning after Thanksgiving, I felt ready to jump into Christmas! I’m ready for Christmas parties and fun food! I’ve also preemptively had my favorite Advent devotional on my nightstand for the past week. Christmastime is a time of complementary opposites for me - a time for both quiet reflection and joyful celebration. It’s a time for contemplating our deep need for a Savior and the joy that He would come despite our unworthiness. It’s a time to gather in the living room with the people you love the most and joke and tell stories for hours. It’s also the time to sit quietly and reflect on the Christmas story - that the King of Creation was born in a humble stable.
Do enjoy the busyness and fun of this season - blare some All I Want for Christmas Is You during your game of Dirty Santa (or White Elephant, or Yankee Swap). Bake allllll the Christmas cookies and wrap those presents! But with that, take time to pause this Christmas and think about the wonder of God becoming man, of the joy of a Creator who loved us so much, He put on flesh and went to live among us.
Greystone Christmas Party is made for just that - a party! A Joyful Christmas is a quieter collection of songs for to remind us of the goodness and hopefulness of this season. Here’s hoping that these playlists help you to celebrate Christmas to the fullest.
Merry Christmas, Greystone girls!
