Stumblers Part 3

Time passes quickly at camp. We are always shocked to hear Reveille blow at 7:30 and when Taps blows at 9:40 we find it hard to remember all the things that filled the moments of our day. We squeeze more activities into our mornings that most people do in an entire week… add in the afternoon activities and evening programs, sprinkle in some really spectacular meals and inspirational moments; our days are exceptionally full and therefore pass very quickly.

So when we gathered for our third Stumblers, it was with a sense of amazement. Amazed that a week has already gone by. Filled with a sense of gratitude for the good that surrounds us.

Sundays provide a chance to “process” the week that has passed. We look back and our first thoughts go to “Do Nothing” Day (Friday really was a fun day… the more we look back on it the better it becomes!), the Birthday Ball, Talent Show, Dance Battle, Movie Night, Corn Roast, Council Fire, rainy afternoons, sunny mornings, Singing in the pit, Dancing in the Dining Room… it all fills our hearts with a sense of well being. We are spending our days well, growing in the four fold way and loving every minute of it!

We look forward to Sunday School, Church, and a rest filled afternoon that is free of cares. We anticipate an exciting week to come (lots of big programs that the campers produce now fill the EP schedule) and we sense that time is running out. A week is not a long time… a valuable lesson to learn at a young age!

As we gathered on the track we noticed a change in the air. For the past week we have been in a weather pattern that led to rain every afternoon. The morning air felt muggy and that moisture laden air always leads to rain in the mountains. Today it was not muggy. In fact, the breeze that was coming from the West was surprisingly brisk! The next week will be a very different one with regard to weather… hot, less humid, no rain. Should be a nice change!
