The report from our big carnival is good… the weather was perfect (last year it rained), the food was amazing, the rides were awesome, and spirits were high throughout the night. It was a GREAT way to celebrate and the girls took full advantage of it!
So today we begin the one week countdown. One week from today is Banquet Day, a fact that catches everyone off guard. That means each class will have a laser focus on finishing projects and passing levels. Each night will celebrate bigger and bigger EP’s, each one requiring a lot of preparation and representing a lot of talent. Camp is going great and we are loving every minute!
Yesterday we returned to Thunderhead with a group of riders. The girls loved the facility (it has a huge hayloft, a camp kitchen, a tack room, miles of trails, acres of pasture, a beach, and a campfire area by the river). The pictures looked great!
We also finished our rafting trips yesterday, with lots of good reports coming from the girls.
Tonight we will have Group Night activities with the girls and most of the groups will then stay up late and eat s’mores under the stars on a huge camp wide overnight. We have set up 25 big tents and cleared the gym and the pavilion. Groups will play in the lake, in the pool, on the soccer field, at the Thunderhead Barn, and on Apple Hill’s mountain top meadow. We are praying for good weather, but no matter what it will be a night to remember!
Thank you for keeping up with things at camp, you are a very good parent to do so (and a camp fanatic if you don’t have a child here now!). We are grateful for your support and appreciate your love!
