5 Ways to Handle Your Pre-Camp Excitement

This time of year, camp can feel SO close… and yet we’re not quite there yet! You dream about your counselor, doodle pictures of your classes in school, and text your camp friends about the perfect lipsync song - we’ve all been there.

You’re just iching to get to Greystone but it’s not quite Opening Day yet. So what’s a girl to do?

  1. Write your pen-pal again. Tell her everything you’re thinking about this time of the year. What’s your must-not-forget item to pack? Which new classes are you definitely taking? Extra credit if you wrote your Director pen-pal that you found in the latest Sparks!
  2. Print out pictures for your bunk. Lots of campers love to decorate their space with pictures from home. Do you have one of your family? Of your dog? Of your best friend in school? Collages are encouraged!
  3. Make camp your background. Have you seen our downloads? What better way to get pumped for camp than to look at it each time you log onto your computer or turn on your phone?
  4. Watch a favorite camp video again. Nothing will get you ready for the “bubble” like Jimboy at Jass class or Gladys and Jewels.
  5. Feed your daydreams by looking at the panorama, reminiscing about Seniorpalooza or setting a world record, and tearing up at the Spirit of Greystone video.
  6. Get mentally ready for the summer! What goals do you want to work on while you’re here? What books are you going to read during Rest Hour? What bucket-list items do you want to do with your cabin? Write them down, claim your goals for the summer, and get ready, because it’s going to be the best year yet!
