A low pressure front has stalled over North Carolina, bringing cloudy skies and the promise of a lot of rain for the next couple of days… and we couldn’t be more pleased!
Rain is a part of life. It keeps the lawns green, the rivers full, and forms beautiful clouds that cling dramatically to the sides of the mountains. Rain is fun to play in and it drops the temperatures wonderfully. And perhaps best of all, rain on a tin roof is one of the most glorious sounds known to man.
Our rain today will probably not arrive until the afternoon or evening, and our Movie night (older girls watching “Enchanted”; younger girls “Aristocrats”) will be the perfect EP should it come as expected. The program is set, the counselors are prepared, and the girls are looking forward to having a Great Day no matter the weather.
This was the lesson of Breakfast Club today: that camp is a place where we exercise our “attitude” muscles, developing responses that will enhance our lives when we return home. Much of the time our circumstances will be less than perfect, the question we all have to face is what our response to that deficiency will be. Most people don’t look for the positive… and that is a shame, for the positive side is always there if you look. By practicing this skill every day, we build very strong positive character muscles. We hope you notice this trait in your daughter when she returns home… such a delightful thing to see!
Thanks for checking in, we are enjoying our time with your girls very much. They are precious beyond words!
