We began the day with a surprise concert by Wes King and his sons (Mitch, Harrison, and George). Wes visits the family home at Apple Hill every summer and knows that when he comes he will have to check in on his biggest fans: the girls of Greystone. His music has become a tradition at camp… it is how we start Morning Assembly (Life is Precious is played at least 3 times a week, the girls made up movements and know the words by heart). It is such a pleasure to hear Wes live, and his sons now add significantly to his show (we have seen them grow up from babies during these annual visits). What a nice start to a nice day!
Today is regular classes on a breezy, slightly overcast day. It is great camp weather, basically a repeat of the great weather we had yesterday. The girls are feeling good and enjoy the prospect of some normal class days to pass levels and finish projects.
Tonight will be our second Council Fire and the number of girls who have passed levels will be much larger than our first Fire… the girls know that the last fire will be next Sunday, it puts us in a mind to work hard and meet our goals.
Thank you for checking in. Have a wonderful weekend.
