Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!
At Greystone we say thank you a lot. We always notice the good things that surround us and Opening Day is always a great opportunity to experience this feeling.
We are thankful to you for bringing your girls to camp. I was amazed to hear of the families that drove several days in the car or endured long days at the airport just to do the bunk run. Seeing mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, and sisters all join in this task with such delight is humbling. Thank You for making the effort. Your daughters appreciate the love; it is a beautiful thing to see!
Your love and appreciation of camp is amazing. Thank You so very much for loving camp.
We are thankful for your daughters… a wonderful group of campers who are already writing the latest chapter in the Book of Greystone. They are making new friends that will endure the test of time. They learning life skills, gaining confidence, and growing in ways that will pay dividends for a lifetime. Their big smiles and open arms are already welcoming girls who are new to camp. Their enthusiasm and joy is like jet fuel for the counselors (who have been preparing for a very long time). Their hearts are soft and will be carefully nurtured over the next three weeks. Thank You for sharing them.
Last but not least… we are thankful to God who has made this all possible.
My Great Grandfather opened camp for the first time 97 years ago and at the time he did not know if it would be able to survive as a business or not. Camps were not very popular at the time and there was not an obvious market for girls camps in particular. He felt led by God to resign his position as a minister of a large church in order to start Greystone and we are still celebrating that faithfulness.
There has been a strong hedge of protection around this community ever since and we are thankful.
With thanksgiving in our hearts, we enter another year… I will be blogging every day and giving you my take on the events of the day. I will let you know what the weather feels like, what lessons we are teaching, what we are eating, what classes are really cool, what evening programs were a hit. You will be a fly on the wall… able to look in on your camper’s experience by checking out the photos and reading the news. You will be able to hear the Morning Assembly talks and Sunday Sermons in the new Devotion section of the website. You will become an expert on all things Greystone in no time.
We welcome you and hope that you will be blessed by the connection with our camp.
