And Thus It Begins

Well it is finally here… the curtain rises and we start the big show for our 96th summer. What a joy!

I told the girls in our first assembly that our fun begins when they arrive… that we work all year so we can play when they arrive and while that may be an overstatement, the heart of the sentiment is true. We love camp. Life is good when camp is full of happy girls and as I write this I can here the sounds and see the sights of a camp FULL of happy girls!

The morning was smooth as butter. Of particular note was the magnificent buffet lunch that we served from our new salad bar room. This addition consumed much of our year, but it was worth it BIG TIME! The six serving lines were a huge improvement on the old system. We served the entire camp without a line ever forming out the dining hall doors! Girls were getting seconds before even half the camp served themselves (because there was no line!). Shivers of delight ran up my spine!

The girls are now out enjoying “free time” with their cabins. The slip and slide is a huge hit, as is the water park, but I am particularly delighted by the sight of Eno hammocks filled with delighted girls. There is a nice breeze coming off the lake, slightly overcast, perfect temperature of 80 degrees.

Camp is delightful. Thank you for sharing your girls. Make sure you check out the photos, there are a lot to see!
