Today is our first day of scheduled classes at Junior Camp…the girls are SO happy and excited!!! They have done very well as they go from activity to activity. I have seen lots of smiles and squeals of laughter all morning.
Yesterday’s Challenge Day was a HUGE success. I have never seen so many tutus!! We had fun games and relays, with the ODD team winning by a narrow margin. It gave us a good chance to talk about friendly competition….everyone was a winner! Last night was Minute to Win it with the cabin staff counselor’s competing against each other. The girls loved cheering their counselors on as they played fun games.
This afternoon we will have more activities, then at dinner will have our first ever Junior Camp Carnival!!! We have 5 inflatables the girls will play on, lots of carnival food like popcorn, funnel cakes, cotton candy, cookie decorating and grilled cheese sandwiches! We start with a picnic dinner with cabin groups and will then start the fun around 6:45. I am sure the pictures will show how popular carnival is at Greystone!
Last night we had the FAMOUS Taco in a bag dinner (a bag of Fritos that they could stuff with whatever things they wanted, mix up and eat), and sundaes on the road. Then, breakfast was cereal, fruit bar, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, and bacon. They had apples mid morning. There are also snacks in the NEW ice machine stations (string cheese as well as a non dairy, gluten free option).
The weather continues to be good…this week will be starting scattered storms, which is typical for this area. Camp continues on in all area’s….doesn’t stop us one bit!
We are having fun!!
