Make it a Camp Christmas!

Merry-Almost-Christmas Greystone Girls! This time of year is so exciting, from the decorations, to the music, to the presents, but when you’re bundled up at home, it can seem like camp is so far away. Never fear guys, there are SO many ways to incorporate your favorite things about camp into your Christmas season. Do one, or do them all!

  1. Do an ornament exchange with your camp friends. Have everyone in your cabin send an ornament to each other - you can even decorate one like camp! Every time you look at your tree, you’ll remember the friendships that make your summers so special.
  2. Brainstorm your “What If” scenario and make a video to send in for our latest contest!
  3. Cook up a kitchen favorite for your family at home. Have Taco in a Bag after a long day of Christmas shopping, or make bread pudding for your family’s Christmas dinner - why not make it a tradition?
  4. Listen to a camp artist’s Christmas album in the car. Drew and Ellie Holcomb, Dave Barnes, and Andrew Peterson all have GREAT Christmas albums that’re guarenteed to get you in the holiday spirit.
  5. Challenge your cabin to read through the Greystone daily devotions together. Read them every day and talk about them afterwards - it’ll be just like you’re having a devotion in your cabin again!
  6. Take advantage of your free time during Christmas break. Make a scrapbook of your favorite camp photos, organize your patches and awards from the summer to display in your room, or make a camp-countdown to get you through until your session starts!
  7. Remember what you learned in Breakfast Club and don’t wait to start your goals for the New Year. How can you grow in the 4-fold way this Christmas? Commit to reading your Bible every day, calling a camp friend for a DMC a couple times, staying on top of your school work, or working up a sweat to some Greystone Groove every week.

Which of these ideas are you excited about trying this Christmas? What else are you planning on doing during the Holidays to remind yourself of camp? Let me know in the comments!
