Thursday

Here comes the sun!

We have been in a typical NC weather pattern (afternoon rain showers) for about 2 weeks. The humidity has been high, leading to low clouds and fog that gradually clear through the morning only to be replaced with big storm clouds in the mid afternoon. The rain showers never last long and are good for cooling off, but they do make our feet squish as we walk around the campus. Mulch holds water and becomes soggy like you wouldn’t believe!

That rainy pattern breaks today with blue skies, a light breeze, and low humidity. It is going to be a great day to dry out, a great day to be outside, a great day to be at Greystone! The sunrise this morning was spectacular… a glorious deep pink sky tinged with dark blue wispy clouds quickly blown away. It makes for a happy sight for those who enjoy quiet time on their cabin porches.

The Lip Synch’s last night were fantastic… especially the Seniors (who all had a “Sound of Music” theme and individually introduced each Senior to the camp). The “funmeter” will be pegged tonight with a REALLY FUN “Protect Your Senior” camp wide team building EP. The concept is: each cabin is given a Senior camper to “Protect” from the mess that each station presents. The cabin has to figure out how to get their Senior (who is wearing a white shirt) from the baked beans, mustard, catsup, paint, or mud that is at each obstacle. At the end of the night the winner is clearly seen… and we have a big Color Dance… HUGELY COOL. There will be some great photos and we will have the drone out to take video’s. Stay tuned.

Camp life is clicking along very smoothly. Not a cloud in the sky, so to speak.
