I had no intention to post a blog today… but as 9:00 approaches my fingers start to twitch and like Pavlov’s Dog, I type out of habit.
During the summer months, routine and tradition take over. My morning routine is to comment on the day with you good people… if I miss today, I might mess up my whole day!
So before we gather with the counselors for a brief Church service in the Pavilion, I will convey a couple final thoughts.
If this is your first time at Main Camp DON’T WORRY! Main Camp will ebrace you with warmth and joy. You will find yourself singing along in the dining hall, chatting with perfect strangers in the pit, and skipping down the road (alone or in a group) on the very first day! This community is wonderful! You are going to love it.
If you are returning to Main Camp “Ditto” what I wrote yesterday. YOU are going to have the Best summer of your life (that goes to first year campers too).
If you are a parent TAKE A VACATION! I envy your freedom (assuming your children are all at camp)! RELISH the time, harbor no guilt, write your campers often (every day), and know that you have made a wise investment in their growth.
If you are a June Camper/Parent Good for you! You are still reading this??? You should read the blog every day of Main Camp, it will be an inspiration. You are officially a fanatic… “A Greystone Crazy” and I am proud of you.
Have a wonderful day everybody!

PS A Joke that I will not be sharing at any session but I think is very funny…
A grasshopper walks into a bar. The bartender says to him, “Hey, we have a drink named after you.” The grasshopper replies, “You have a drink named Murray?”
