June Camp... The Countdown

In 48 hours you are going to be here! The countdown is almost over.

We do a countdown too… We spend all Fall, Winter, and Spring getting ready for opening day. As soon as camp ended last August we began our winter work. After reading every survey, every letter, compiling lists and going over our notes from every conversation we had over the summer… we got to work. We brainstormed new program ideas, evalurated new stickers, chose new t-shirt designs, debated theme verses, and confirmed the plans for the dozens of renovation projects that would need to be completed in the “off season”.

Camp gets a real “makeover” every winter. The cabin area echoes with the sounds of power saws, hammers, and delivery trucks. We sometimes make a HUGE mess as we do the tedious work of adding power outlets, fixing broken tiles, planting trees, and replacing fences. It is a big job, for this is a big place!

There are 102 buildings in camp. Most of them are very old, so they need a lot of love in order to be ready every year. We do EVERYTHING we can think of to make camp perfect for you. We want you to be amazed when you walk up the hill on Monday morning.

We welcomed Junior Camp this week and they LOVED IT!!! There were moments this past week that were quite breathtaking. Warm days, cool nights, happy girls doing activities and singing in the dining hall. WE LOVE the way camp “feels” when campers are here. And as much as we loved Junior Camp, we know that June Camp is different… it is MORE (more time, more activities, more campers, more fun).

Enjoy your trip, see you on Monday!
