Hello Greystone family!! In 1999 I moved to this area from Florida. I have lived in multiple different places in my life, but many years were spent in FL. I was SO excited for the fall. I was amazed at the colors & progression of the season change. I don’t think that I have lost any of that same enthusiasm or awe in the years I have spent here in the mountains. Every year I like to walk around and take photos. Starting in 2001, I would do a blog post about the leaves. I wanted to share the photos with all of those Florida campers & staff! (and anyone else who cannot see it first hand) I do think that it is best to see this in person, but if you can’t get to NC in the next 2 weeks, this post will have to be your fix. FYI – I predict that in 2 weeks most of the leaves will be on the ground. That is when the fun begins!! Raking leaves is so enjoyable!! If you have ever raked a zillion leaves you know that this is MOSTLY untrue. I say mostly because there are some fun things like…running through a big pile or raking a big pile up, climbing into the center and staying really still until someone walks by and then BAAM – jumping out as a joke! The bummer part is the part where you take the big pile and smash them into bags. It is amazing how many leaves you can get into a leaf bag. I am getting a bit tired thinking of that awesome job that will happen at my house in 2 weeks. For now, I will enjoy sharing some of the photos I took on my walk. I may post again in a week to show you the changes! Enjoy!
Have a great day!!
