Ten... Nine... Eight...

Countdown has almost ended and we are about to blast off.

Today is another perfect example of what North Carolina is all about. Cool mornings, blue skies, and fluffy clouds. This is living.

The counselors ran Stumblers this morning, had fresh biscuits (cheese, of course) and scones (chocolate chip, of course), a wonderful church service (by our resident minister Rob Hamby), and a “catch all” meeting where we went over about 100 details. This afternoon the counselors will work on getting their cabin ready… and we will be done!

Things to remember about opening day:

  • Arrive early… if you want to get first choice of bunks arrive around 7:15 or a little earlier. The run up the hill is at 7:30 sharp.
  • You enter through the Staff Entrance, which is on Hwy 225 (the main road through Tuxedo).
  • We will have all the beds made, so you can focus on getting the important “settling in” details done.
  • If you don’t have a small clip on fan, get one (it won’t be cool like this all summer). We encourage small electric fans (there are plugs in all the cabins). We will sell fans in the camp store, so don’t worry too much.

We can’t wait to see you tomorrow.
