Sorry I am late… going to be short too!
This is a busy day, been running from place to place, taking pictures, talking, laughing, and getting sunburned (I didn’t put on sunscreen… mistake). It is a glorious 80 degree sunny day, perfect for Watersports Day, one of my favorite days of the year.
It began with French Toast and sausage, then a Breakfast Club on “Prayer” (continuing to practice growing in all 4 aspects of life, the “spiritual” is our final chapter). Wes King was our surprise Morning Assembly host, playing with his sons and inspiring us all to “remember” how good God is. Wes is amazing… his music is loved by Greystone girls and he really connects in a powerful way (married a Greystone girl, became famous, battled cancer, and became a father… all adds up to a great guy). Then the games began.
All camp rotated from fun water activity to fun water activity. Check out the pictures, we will post about 2,000 today… there should be some really good ones out there. The relaxed fun of this day is superb… delicious… satisfying… intoxicating… just what we needed.
It will finish with the Water Show EP. As the sun sets we will watch the Syncronized Swimmers perform their acts to a theme of “The 90’s”. No other camp has a show like it. I don’t know if anyone does water ballet any longer… but at camp it is hugely popular. A very atheltic and artistic skill that perfectly suits the older girls of camp. Many of the senior girls take “syncro” and end up becoming fanatics. It is a workout that satisfies… and is very social at the same time (lots of talking time as the acts are perfected). This night is the main reason we built the “Deep Pool”… a million dollar bet that swimming was “worth it”. I have not regretted that choice!
Thanks for checking in. We are fine… can’t get enough of these camp moments. Drinking deeply of life for a few more days. Thank you for making it possible.
