Sunday; Greystone Style!

You remember the routine, if not look back at last Sunday’s news. Pretty much the same.

Stumblers was pretty fantastic today… Let me count the ways:

  • Huge turnout. Nothing like a crowd to make an event exciting.
  • Free T-shirt. Nothing like a prize… girls love clothing, and this will be a cherished item for years to come. You get the shirt if you run stumblers both Sundays… “The Promise of the Prize” is a good motivator.
  • Great weather… it is going to be hot and sunny today, thus my delight at a huge dark cloud that obscured the sun just as we started to run. Drops the temperature 10 degrees, brings a smile to the lips. Then a stiff breeze came up; blessing on top of blessing. As I write this, the cloud is leaving the sky… goodbye old friend.
  • Fathers Day… we don’t celebrate Father’s day, but lots of campers gave me a shout out and I accepted the greetings in the collective voice of all you dads out there. Your girls love you. They need you in their lives, interested in their little things. Next week you will have them back with you, take time to sit with them on the porch and just talk. Go on a walk (or run) next Sunday morning… it really feels good. No ipods allowed… just talk. Do it every Sunday. You’ll thank me.

I feel like I have been too verbose with my updates. You need a break. Thus, today I am going to give you a very simple one… Have a GREAT DAY.

Tonight’s EP is Camp Life, lots of singing, skits, and games (we will be giving away about 40 Mockingbird Sun t-shirts that I bought from the band last week).

The upcoming week is our famous closing week formula. Every day builds on the one before and culminates with the HUGE banquet on Thursday night. It is a home run week, the “Babe Ruth” of our lineup, guaranteed to bring the crowd to their feet.
