Today is a big day at camp… it is sunny, 70 degrees, and the new trees are arriving! The first two trees are in the ground, another is on the way… by tomorrow afternoon all the trees will be dug in and we will be almost ready for the summer.
The process for planting giant trees is very interesting. The big truck that is in the pictures digs a giant hole, taking the dirt to the tree farm. He digs the tree in about 10 minutes with the giant digging thing on the back of the truck, dumps the dirt from camp in the hole left by the tree, brings the tree to us and drops it in the hole. Very cool to watch!
Here are a few pictures. Will update as soon as all the trees are here.
