We change classes to the sound of a wonderful bell, located at the top of our Dining Hall Porch. This bell is a beauty: about 150 years old, 200 pounds, bronze, hometown of Boston. So Cool!
Last summer it developed a “thunk”. When we pulled the rope, there was a ground thumping clunking sound from the bell tower: YIKES! Upon inspection, we discovered a broken piece. To fix it, we have to disassemble the bell, take the broken piece and fabricate a replacement. It will take about a week, and during that time the bell can not be rung… now is the time to do this kind of project!
Enjoy the pictures!
Also, we are repairing potholes in the drive. Not very exciting, but I like it!
