Are You Out There?

August Parents and Campers… Are you checking this?

That thought just occurred to me, that you are checking for some opening day hints or advice and we only have “Main Camp Leftovers” on the table.

So, here is for you… short and sweet!

Arrive early, but not too early. We officially open at 7:30, cars start arriving around 7:00 and everyone just stands around waiting for the OK to run up the hill. We don’t waste the time, tagging your bags and taking them to your cabin before you even arrive. Most campers are here by 9:00, itching to get on with camp!

Photo’s… we take a lot of them, so practice your “speed view” technique. Set your photo settings (in the log-in section of the website) to 48 photos per page, scan 48 at a time (marking favorites with a star for later viewing in detail). You can scan 1000 photos in about 20 minutes… it also gives you a nice overview of what is happening at camp. My photos are in their own folder every day, we also have morning, afternoon, and evening activities folders.

Letters… write a lot of letters. Leave several days worth of letters with the hostesses on opening day (we will deliver on the day you specify). Snail Mail takes a long time to get to Tuxedo, but is worth it. Hand written letters are GOLDEN. Emails work in a pinch.

Emails… FREE THIS YEAR. We are the only camp I know that provide this service (one way email) for free. We do it as a service and hope you appreciate this convenience.

Fruit… Don’t send any! It is approved, but not needed (we serve fruit all day long: Fruit and berry bar at breakfast, apples at 11:00, Watermelon at 3:30). Camp is the gift, so don’t think anything else is needed.

I think that is all my wisdom. Thank you for checking in!
