After the Party

Corn Roast is such a Party. It is one of the best parties I have ever seen, the kind of party that everyone would be talking about the day afterwards. The kind of party that would be mentioned around the dinner table months later. The kind of party that exemplifies the season: Great seasonal food, Great relaxed feel, Great entertainment, Great weather, Great people- the list of Greats is remarkable. Amazing BBQ (the ribs were beyond description… I skipped the brisket, chicken, pork, and turkey; ate one rib and got 5 more). Amazing feel (friends sitting together, playing together, dancing together, it is a night of togetherness). Amazing entertainment (Kat Williams ROCKS the house, about 100 girls started dancing when she started to sing at 7:00 and those same girls were still dancing at 9:00 when she finished). It really was a wonderful event… it is a wonderful summer; such great memories.

Today is sunny and warm, there is a wonderful mellowness about the camp. Rafting trips are over (last group went out yesterday) we have two weeks left and are getting ready for the final push. Comfortable: that is the word. Everyone is just comfortable.

With such a great feeling, we need a great lunch: How About a traditional THANKSGIVING FEAST! Turkey, Dressing, Cranberry Sauce, Green Beans, Squash Casserole, Rolls, and Pumpkin Pie! This will be a wonderful meal and will lead to a wonderful rest hour: I can’t wait. How can the kitchen pull off a meal like that after a party like that? The only answer is love… they love to serve us and it shows. Thank You Kitchen!!!

Council Fire EP tonight, tons of department awards… I think my mother will tell the story of Georgia doing her best in her small corner. It is a great lesson and the girls will be encouraged by the public recognition of their summer accomplishments.

Good times, thank you for checking in…
