Main Camp Awaits

One of the funny things about running a summer camp is how you have to prepare for the opening of another session while in the middle of the most intense part of a session. This is what Laura, Kelly, Sarah, Margaret, and I are doing right now.

June Camp is closing tomorrow, and what a session it has been! I think it has been the best session we have EVER done, every aspect has worked according to plan… but better than that, it has been filled with delight that comes from a community that is worthy of the 24 hours a day we spend together. So much laughter, so much love, so much silly fun, and just the right amount of intense instruction and “life lessons”… how can it get better?

MAIN CAMP

The words bring a smile to my lips and a leap to my step. There is not a place in the world that will be more appealing than Camp Greystone in the month of July. Knowing the quality of this staff, knowing the quality of these campers, knowing the quality of this facility, and knowing the details of the days which are about to start… all this knowledge overwhelms our emotions. We know what is ahead, and can not wait.

Main Camp is special: 80 Seniors (about 700 combined years of Greystone summers in this group), 5 weeks of camp (long enough to give a relaxed pace and maintain an intensity of experience), Counselors who are seasoned and proven (who see Main Camp as the best thing they will do all year long, possibly the best thing they have ever done), and a facility that is highly refined (older girls notice all the details and delight in each one).

We can’t wait for Main Camp, it is a high water point in our year… and this year is going to be special.
