Another Parent Letter, June Camp

Dear Jimboy,

This was year three for Annabelle, and just as you said, it was the best summer ever. After giving me a big greeting hug on closing day, Friday, she looked at me and said, “It just wasn’t long enough.”

Then we whisked her away to Charlotte to catch a flight to Baltimore to watch her older brother play in a lacrosse invitational and said 100 more times can I please go back. To my reply, “This summer? You want me to call Jimboy and see if there is any room for you this summer?”

Of all the things about Annabelle that I love, her affection for Greystone is right at the top. In Charlotte, we all talk about how they come home more generous, more thoughtful, more gracious, and more grounded. She even brushes her hair with more confidence!

You have it figured out. Thank you for taking so much time to ensure it is the wonderful place it is…and THANK YOU for hiring such fantastic people. Margaret and Blythe, in TU 11 (almost heaven), were so fantastic….they wrote us the lengthiest, loveliest letter about Annabelle. And she adored them. I love that they look great on opening and closing day, that they know the girls, that they seem to take their job very seriously. Each year, they are so poised and “with it”. I keep fingers crossed that Annabelle will one day be a Greystone counselor!

I have thought of you often this year as you and your family have lost JimDaddy. He seemed like such a wonderful man, and I really appreciate all the literature you shared with us. You have a special family, no doubt, and the fact that you have shared so much with all of the Greystone girls means a lot. I hope one day to know you and yours personally!

Regards,

Mary Yorke (Annabelle’s mom)
