I have loved looking through this journal from 1920 – our first year of camp! Here is the second entry:

“We got up this morning at 6:45 at the blowing of the first whistle. After our breakfast, we organized the classes and I joined the craft class. I rode at 11 o’clock and rode a horse Miss Ruland had to lead because he had a habit of running. I certainly enjoyed the ride! We had dinner at 1 o’clock and after an hour of rest, we went at 4 o’clock for a long hike. It seemed about 3 miles.
We got back at 6:30 and were all very hungry for supper. I am now sitting on lookout watching the sun set. We are going to a sing tonight and then to bed. We sang around our first camp fire and after that would had repeated a verse of scripture, we went to bed”
