Hi everyone! During the winter, we don’t have too many people around camp as it's cold and camper-less. I wanted to introduce you to some of our year round camp staff over the next few months, and first on the list is Jessi Eurich! Your parents have probably talked with Jessi as she works in the office all year – this year you’ll have to stop by and say hello! I asked Jessi some questions so you could get to know her better…
Name: Jessi Eurich
What you do at camp: My official title is Records Director, which means I am part of the small behind-the-scenes team that works year round to re-enroll campers, talk to parents, and do about a thousand other things that go into making this great camp run like a top!
How many years you’ve been here: I can’t believe I’ve been here for 3 years and 9 months already! It’s a great place to work. (And my office view of the lake is a fantastic bonus!)
Hobbies: I cram my life full of a lot of different activities. I make art of all sorts: jewelry, shadowboxes, mixed media—you name it! I recently took up mountain biking—it’s tough!— and I’m also a dedicated student of Shorinryu Shorinkan Karate. Being active and creative keep me balanced and loving life. I also love taking care of my home, where we recently just built a pond and filled it with exactly 58 beautiful koi and goldfish!
Favorite camp meal: I'm not a big meat-eater, so I’m probably most fond of a good salad, complete with edamame, strawberries, and cottage cheese. Don't get me wrong—I love to get my hands on a good sugary dessert any time I can! I have about 7 sweet teeth.
What are you most excited about for summer 2010: Well, the office in the summer is SUPER busy!! I gotta say, whenever I can spare the time for lunch in the dining hall, that’s what I’m most excited about! Hey, who doesn’t love to eat??
Something people don't know about me is: Ok, I admit it…..I’m a Trekkie. My two favorite shows in the whole world are Star Trek: The Next Generation and Little House on the Prairie. I have almost all the seasons of each on DVD. If there was a Little H. on the P. Trivial Pursuit game, I would SO win!
Thanks Jessi! I’ll be “introducing” another year-round person in the next few weeks, so check back often!
