Holiday Fun!
Issue 67, Vol. 06
Thursday, December 21, 2006
I have been collecting all kinds of photos for this update. I hope you like them. There is a little bit of everything...
Many of you are traveling over this holiday break. Please be safe & have a ton of fun! If you have any fun holiday traditions, please share them with me via email. In my family, we love games. All holidays consist of cards, Trivial Pursuit, Balderdash, Catch Phrase, Cranium, or (my favorite) Scene it? It is tons of fun! In fact, I played a game last night that needs no board, no dice, no fake money...just paper, pens & your brain. We call it Celebrity. You get your group together. Each person writes 2 famous names down on small pieces of paper (they must be names that you are sure that the group would know). They all get folded once in half & put into a bowl. From there you separate onto teams (2) by counting off. You separate by group and round one is ready. Round one- You can say anything to help your team guess who the famous person is. One person from each team gets one minute to see how many celebrities they can get their team to guess correctly. If you get to a name that you don't know you have to try & get your team to figure it out. You can't toss it back in. You keep going giving each team a turn until you go through all the names. Points are earned for each name that each team got in their time limit. Round 2 - All the names go back in the bowl. The person on the team whose turn it is plays as usual, except they can only say ONE word to get their team to guess the celebrity. Umm...counts & you can't say anything else but your team can still guess. If you were paying attention in Round 1, you know the names in the bowl. Round 3 - All names go back in the bowl. You can say NOTHING, but you can act things out to help your team to guess who the person is. It is a very fun game - when we played last night it was a TIE! We could not believe it!
Merry Christmas!
Kelly
